In this video you will learn how to stitch the shoulder seams of a Kurti.

To learn how to stitch a piece of interfacing along the neckline, watch the previous video.

Spread out the back piece of the garment on the table.

We shall join the front piece to the back piece by stitching the shoulder seams of the garment.

Place the front piece on top of the back piece such that the facing sides of the garment are in contact.

Now, align the corresponding shoulders of the front and back pieces.

Starting from the corner made with the neckline, create a reverse stitch and work towards the end of the shoulder line at the notch mark.

When you reach the end, lift the presser foot and flip the garment over to create a second stitch over the first one.

This time, start with a reverse stitch from the corner of the armhole.

Stitch off the edge at the end of the neckline, cut the thread and repeat the process on the other shoulder.

Make sure the stitches are consistent.

Repeat the same stitch on the other shoulder.

Once this is completed, turn over to the facing side of the garment and finger press the seams so that the stitches settle into the fabric.

Now that the shoulder seams are done you may proceed to stitch the sleeves.
