All of us have a unique skill-set or an innate or acquired talent.
In our community of volunteers, these talents are used to tool up and speed up the transmission of skills.
Some of our volunteers are able to translate our content, others lend their voice for dubbing. Some have an expertise they can share, others help us shape it, while others still are preparing the shoot... And there are those developing the website, and those disseminating the programs on the field...
Wherever they are, whatever their skillset and whatever time they have, our volunteers work together to develop our organization. They are both the hidden part of the iceberg and the heartbeat of Sikana.

Fully committed to Sikana's mission from the beginning or part of the way, they help us grow, develop, and simply function. Discover how, when, and more!
If you were told that Sikana was created in an attic with the first 5 members, would you believe it?
Crazy as it may sound, it is however a true story.
The space might have been tiny, but Sikana’s vision was large enough to accommodate everyone: uniting people to expand access to practical education.
“It is not by chance that you are reading these lines, join our community and let us write the story together.”
A true globe-trotter, it is easier for Simon to count the number of countries he hasn’t visited yet rather than those he has already seen.
It was during a holiday that he met Gregory and realized that all individuals have a particular skill-set which they would be happy to share in order to help others in their community.
What better way then to capture it on video, dub it in regional languages and inspire the widest audience to acquire a skill and lead a dignified, independent and happy life?
And voilà, Sikana was born!
Tabla, Bhangra, Yoga, but also Tennis, Ultimate, and the Indian flute. Who could possibly have so many passions?
Samarth founded Sikana India 5 years back. He has forged partnerships with the Indian government, managed the Sports program and worked on vocational training programs for the underprivileged.
He shuttles between Paris and Pondicherry and the entire team looks forward to his return to France as he comes back with 50 kilos of food cooked by his mother!
Matthieu contributed to the creation of Sikana’s website and has worked tirelessly for the last 4 years coding, designing mock-ups, testing and more!
To manage with this work and still has time to play competitive basketball on the side, Matthieu has only one solution: he keeps the most perfectly organized, up-to-date to-do list of Sikana.
"Done! What next?"
Victor manages Factory, our translation and subtitling platform which allows any individual to have content in his language.
He is a perfectionist and always strives to improve all our IT tools.
In short, he is our Swiss Army Knife.
Adrien is the go-to-guy for a myriad of tasks.
He is an expert in animation, scriptwriting, special effects, narration... and last but not least, meditation. His optimism, cheerfulness and his ever-peaceful state of mind are an inspiration for every team member.
By the way, the first time we met him, he recited a poem and there was no option but to get him on board.
How could you possibly translate 1200 videos in Chinese, partner with the leading online platforms, disseminate educational programs on the field across China within a couple of years?
It’s ‘magic’ - just like the queen of heart that you thought was in your pocket... but is in fact in Qiyu's hand.
You can have his share of coffee, all he cares for is Chinese tea!
Grégoire is like a captain of a Boules team.
He knows the talents of all team members and implements a strategy to get the best results from the team. He managed the Sports programs and is currently heading the IT team.
When he is not solving brain-teasers in his free time, you'll find him answering queries and comments on our videos.
“There might be rumours that my coffee is super strong, but trust me, it could be way stronger.”
Quentin whispers to our servers and writes poetry in PHP.
He makes sure that our video programs are available on any gadget with a screen across the globe.
“In IT, things change fast and one has to constantly learn, unlearn and relearn.”
Don’t bother him before his first coffee of the day, a sacred ritual.
There’s no library without a librarian.
When you have over 2000 videos dubbed in multiple languages, there has to be some order in the system.
If you mess around with Thibault, he’ll greet you with his trademark ‘OULALALALALALA’, but eventually he will undoubtedly find a solution.
He is addicted to coffee, in spite of his 2 year old resolution to give it up.
JF manages the operations. He is like the chain of a bicycle - he gets everything rolling.
His primary role is to coordinate between different teams and make sure that when Gregory is up in the air, he brings him down to earth. His go-to success recipe is undoubtedly his Excel spreadsheets where everything has to be aligned.
If Excel is not your cup of tea, meet him over coffee.
As Sikana is unique, we need epxerts to help us grow and go further. They advise us and help us anticipate the future, thanks to their own experience. On a winding, foggy road, they would be our headlights.
