In this video, you will learn the Ocean Breath Technique, also known as Ujjayi Pranayama.

Sit cross legged with your back straight.

Touch the tip of your thumbs with your index fingers and rest your wrists on your knees, palms up.

Exhale completely, emptying out every last bit of air.

Inhale slowly and deeply through both nostrils such that the hissing gush of the air is heard loudly.

Do not try to fill your stomach by bloating it.

Instead, pull your stomach back towards your spine and fill your lungs entirely.

Exhale slowly and steadily, holding your stomach in for the first two seconds.

Gradually empty out every last bit of air from your lungs and relax your diaphragm.

The passage of air will be felt on the roof of the mouth.

Wait for a second with emptied out lungs before drawing in a second gradual breath of air.

One Inhalation and Exhalation make up a single cycle of Ujjayi Pranayama.

Repeat the cycle for 5-10 minutes.

This exercise aerates the lungs, gets rid of phlegm, tones the body and soothes the nerves.

You have now learnt Ujjayi Pranayama, the Ocean Breath Technique.
