In this video, you will learn the Lion Pose, also known as Simhasana.

Sit on your heels and spread your knees slightly apart.

Now, with the weight of your body on the thighs and knees, stretch your trunk forward with your back erect.

Place your palms on your knees and straighten your arms.

Hold your arms stiff and feel your shoulder blades spread across the back.

Spread out your fingers, pressing them against the knees.

Open your jaws wide and stretch out your tongue as far as you can towards your chin.

Turn your eyes towards the center of your eyebrows.

Inhale through your nose and as you exhale through your mouth, make an ‘ahhh…’ sound.

For the full effect of the exercise try roaring like a lion.

After 20-30 seconds in the pose, insert your tongue back into your mouth and relax in virasana.

Simhasana cures bad breath and speech defects.

It also tones the face, tongue, throat and respiratory tract.

You have now learnt Simhasana, the Lion Pose.
