In this video, you will learn the Cobra Pose, also known as Bhujangasana.

Start by lying down on your stomach, with your chin resting on the floor.

Bring your feet together with your toes pointing out and tighten your knees.

Flatten your palms on the floor beside your chest, fingers pointing away.

Press your palms down and inhale deeply as you raise your trunk till your chest is perpendicular to the ground.

Tighten the muscles of your thighs and buttocks and turn your gaze up towards the sky.

Let your pelvis remain in contact with the floor and pull your shoulders down away from your ears.

Relax your shoulders and try to straighten your arms completely.

Breathe deeply, staying in position for about 20 seconds or as long as you can without straining yourself.

To release, exhale as you fold your elbows and lower your trunk onto the floor.

Relax in child's pose to counter the backward bend.

The cobra pose helps control breathing.

It also tones the chest and back, while correcting the alignment of the spine.

You have now learnt Bhujangasana, the Cobra Pose.
