Fold the index and middle fingers of your right hand into the palm.

Use your ring and little finger to regulate the opening of your left nostril and your thumb to do the same for your right nostril.

Leave your right nostril open and completely shut your left nostril.

Inhale slowly and deeply, counting to 4 as you fill up your lungs.

Now, with both nostrils pressed shut, hold your breath for four counts.

Contract the region between the anus and navel and pull it up towards the diaphragm during retention.

Release both nostrils and exhale slowly, counting to 4.

Now, keep your right nostril completely shut, and count to four as you inhale through the left nostril.

Once again, hold your breath for 4 counts, as before.

Release both nostrils and exhale slowly, counting to 4.

Repeat the cycle 5-10 times.
