In this video, you will learn the Fish Pose, also known as Matsyasana.

Lie down on the floor in corpse pose and bring your feet together.

Tuck your hands below your buttocks with the palms facing down and bring your elbows closer to each other.

Now, inhale as you raise your upper back from the ground as if you were being pulled up by your chest.

Press down against the floor with your elbows so there is no weight applied through your head.

Slowly, tilt your head backward and place the top of your head on the floor.

Breathe deeply as you hold the pose for 20-30 seconds or as long as you can.

To release, lift your chest and head up, bring your chin down and relax in corpse pose.

For more support, place a pillow or folded blanket under your back.

For an advanced variation, start by sitting cross-legged in easy pose or lotus pose.

Support yourself as you lie back.

Place both palms on your thighs and relax the elbows on the floor.

Arch your spine and neck backwards and place the top of your head on the floor.

This pose stretches the chest and neck, and provides relief from respiratory problems.

You have now learnt Matsyasana, the Fish Pose.
