In this video you will learn how to use the Western Grip.
It is an advanced grip which allows for huge amounts of topspin at the expense of power
The key steps are: learning about the grip, and the forehand western grip
Step 1
The tennis racket handle is made of 8 sides, or bevels
With the racket head perpendicular to the ground, the bevels can be numbered 1-8 starting at the top bevel and moving clockwise, for a right-handed player
Step 2
To use a western forehand grip, the base knuckle of your index finger, and the heel pad should sit on bevel number 5
The western grip keeps the racket head closed, with the strings angled down towards the court
Keep practising to master the western grip
Enjoy your game!
