Upcycling: Make a stool from a wooden pallet
In this video you'll learn how to make a stool with wooden pallets.
We will need:
3 Pallets and 3 4cmx4cm wooden battens.
A measuring tape, a pencil, a saw, a sander, medium and fine grit sandpaper, an electric driver, wood screws, a hammer and nails
We'll make a 35cm wide by 50cm (14x20inches) high stool
The first step is to dismantle the pallets. To learn more watch our video "how to dismantle a pallet".
Measure the planks and wooden battens and cut them to the desired size.
We'll need 24 35cm planks to make the sides of the stool
4 50cm wooden battens to fasten the stool at the corner
and 4x27cm battens for reinforcement
Sand the planks.
We'll now make the front and back face of the stool.
fix a wooden batten across the edges of six planks that you have lined up in a row
The battens should stick out on one side by approximately 10cm (4inches), these will be the feet of the stool.
Screw in the reinforcing battens
Repeat the process to make the other side.
Assemble the faces together following the previous steps for aesthetic purposes we'll use nails rather than screws to fix the 4 faces together
To make the seat on top, nail the rest of the planks side by side on top of the battens
Your stool is finished!
