"Orange Blossom Honey" by Lawrence Blatt
In this video you will learn how to make a photo frame using pallet wood.
You will need:
4 wooden pallet boards, some small nails, some 10mm wood screws and some string.
A measuring tape, a steel square, a pencil, a handsaw, a sander, a screwdriver or an electric driver, 4 fixing plates, a ruler, a hammer and a pair of scissors.
Start by dismantling a pallet. To learn more about this, watch our "How to dismantle a pallet" video.
Cut 2 boards measuring 80cm (31.5") in length.
And 2 more measuring 60cm (23.6").
Sand the wood
Position a 60cm board at a right angle to an 80cm board on a flat surface.
Screw on a fixing plate to secure the joint.
Repeat these steps for the remaining sides.
Using the pencil and ruler, make a mark roughly every 13 centimetres (5.1") along the two 80cm sides of the frame.
Insert a small nail at each mark. Be careful not to insert them too deeply; 1cm is enough. The head of the nail should stay above the wood.
Cut four 70cm (27.6") pieces of string
Tie the string between the nails
And cut off any excess.
Use the hammer to bend the nails over the string.
Your photo frame is now ready.
