Pour 3 table spoons of lemon juice over the chicken legs. You can also use chicken breasts if you prefer.

Next, add two teaspoons of garlic paste

And two teaspoons of ginger paste

Use your hands to spread it evenly over the chicken

Add one teaspoon of salt

Mix thoroughly

Then add three teaspoons of chilli powder paste

Add one teaspoon of cumin powder

Add one teaspoon of garam masala powder

Add two teaspoons of roasted cumin powder

Add one cup of thick hung curd

Add two teaspoons of gram flour

Mix thoroughly

Allow the chicken to marinate for 3 to 4 hours

when they are ready, slide the chicken onto skewers

place the skewers in a gas tandoor or oven

Cook the chicken for 10 minutes or until it turns brown.

Add one teaspoon of ghee or butter, and let it cook for 5 minutes

You can also pour some chaat masala over the chicken

Chicken tandoori is best served with onion rings, lemon and a coriander and mint chutney
