When a player hits an overhead dropshot, the partner moves to the forecourt. If a player does a net drop, he should stay in front and the partner behind.

The movement in doubles is extremely important and requires practice, good communication skills and understanding between the partners.

The two key positions and the drill are: the defensive position, the attacking position and the clear and drop drill.

The defensive position - In the defensive position both players stand side-by-side, a little behind the mid-court.

When the shuttle is cleared and a smash is expected, both players should be ready side-by-side with their racket in front.

The attacking position - When the opponent hits a clear in the mid-court, get ready to smash and get in the attacking position with the partner moving forward to kill a loose return.

The rear court player should cover the mid and rear court and should maintain the attack with smashes, dropshots or attacking clears.
