In this video you will learn to cut bias tape for an A-Line Frock.

Bias tape refers to a strip of fabric cut at a 45 degree angle to the grain in order to achieve greater flexibility.

Here, we shall use the bias tape to bind the raw edges of the A-Line frock.

To learn how to cut the front and back pieces and neckline facing of the A-Line frock, watch the previous videos.

To cut bias tapes, choose a fabric that complements the colour of the primary pieces and spread it out flat on top of the table.

Place the ruler on the fabric at True Bias, which is at a 45 degree angle with the lengthwise and crosswise grain.

Using a piece of chalk, draw a first line along the ruler.

When this is done, mark a series of equally spaced points an inch away from the first line, as shown.

Now, draw a line connecting these points.

Repeat these steps till you have three strips and proceed to cut them out along the drawn lines.

Fold the remaining fabric and keep it aside for other projects.

The bias tape is now ready to be used to bind the neckline and the arm holes of the A-Line Frock.

To learn how to stitch the garment, watch the next video.
