in this video, you will learn how to meet and control a ground pass.
Controlling the ball is one of the basic techniques of football
It allows you to receive and take control of the ball to then shoot , pass or dribble.
In this video we will show you how to control a ground pass with the inside of your foot.
Three techniques need to be taken into consideration when controlling the ball. The position of your body in relation to the ball, how you use the inside of your foot and absorbing the ball's speed with your leg.
First of all, the position of your body
Face your body towards the ball
If the ball is not heading directly for your feet, take some small adjusting steps to position yourself in front of it.
Second, using the flat of your foot.
Use the inside, of your foot to control the ball
Open your foot at a 45 degree angle so that the ball bounces back in front of you
Last of all, absorbing the ball's speed
Keep your ankle firm but your leg supple to allow it to be pushed backwards slightly and cushion the impact of the ball.
To practise, position yourself 3 metres from a wall and kick the ball so that it bounces back to you.
Control the ball and kick it back against the wall.
Repeat this exercise as many times as you need to feel comfortable receiving and controlling the ball.
To control a ground pass, remember to position yourself facing the ball, use the inside of your foot at a 45 degree angle and to tighten your ankle while keeping your leg supple at the point of impact
over to you !
