LOOKING AFTER YOUR RUCKSACK
In this video, you will learn how to look after your rucksack. Your bag needs just a little care to keep it in good condition for a long time.
To take care of your bag after a hike, remember these three steps: cleaning, drying and treating.
First of all, cleaning. When you return from your hike, empty your bag completely, turn it upside down and shake it out to remove any particles of dirt and then using a soft brush to remove any remaining dust or dirt.
Remove any stains with a cloth and soapy water. Avoid the use of harsh soap which can permanently damage the lining of the bag.
Next, drying. When you return from your hike, open all the pockets and dry out your bag whether you have washed it or not.
Put it in a dry and well ventilated area. Avoid putting it near a direct source of heat like a radiator or fire, which could damage it.
Lastly, treating it. If neccessary, use a rewaterproofing product, which will preserve the watertightness of the material. Then allow it to dry.
In short, to look after your bag, remember to clean it regularly, always dry it out and if neccessary treat it. Now its your turn!
