HOW TO AVOID INHALING WATER THROUGH YOUR NOSE

In this video, you will learn how to avoid inhaling water through your nose. To do this, you can either get a nose clip or learn how to avoid this situation

For your safety, we recommend that you have someone who knows how to swim accompany you when you do this exercise.

We will divide the video into three sections: the position of the body, inhaling through the mouth, and exhaling through your nose and mouth.

Firstly, let's look at the position of the body. The position of your body will determine whether you will inhale water through your nose or not. When, for instance, you swim on your front or if you are in a vertical position, the water will not come in through your nose as long as you do not inhale while your face is in the water.

You do, however, risk inhaling water through your nose when you swim on your back or when you do a somersault.

Next, breathing in through your mouth. The mouth is much less sensitive to water than the nose is and it helps you inhale much quicker.

Work on your coordination to improve your technique of inhaling when your face is out of the water and exhaling when under water.

Finally, exhaling through your nose and mouth.

Even if you swim on your back, as long as you exhale through your nose, water can never get in.

To prove this, take a deep breath and exhale through the nose and the mouth under water while swimming on your back.

In order to prevent inhaling water through your nose, remember that it all depends on the position of your body, and that you must inhale through your mouth and exhale through your mouth and your nose. Over to you!
