In this video, you will learn how to throw the ball.

Throwing the ball allows you to pass the ball to a teammate who is close to you.

2 types of throw are possible: a short roll along the ground and a long throw in the air.

Firstly, let's take a look at the short throw along the ground.

Make sure that your teammate is roughly less than five metres away from you.

This means the ball will remain on the ground and therefore be easier to control.

Keep your eyes on the target and aim your shoulders towards it.

Keep the ball in the palm of your hand with the help of your forearm

Lunge forward on the opposite foot to hand with which you are rolling the ball,

Bring your arm backwards, bending your back leg at the end so that you can throw the ball at ground level.

Now for the long throw in the air.

Make sure that your teammate is more than 5m away.

To throw a ball in the air, stand at a 45 degree angle to the target, legs apart.

Bring the ball to waist height with the palm of the opposite hand of the foot which is in front

point your arm towards the target.

Throw the ball forwards making a circular arc above the shoulder with your arm.

Never take your eyes off the target.

To throw the ball further, transfer your body weight from the back leg to the front leg as you throw the ball.

To throw the ball further still, you can take a run-up

Now you know how to throw the ball!
