In this video, you'll learn what to do if your bike chain slips, or falls off.

This is common problem which most cyclists will experience at least once.

Follow the steps and you'll be back in the saddle in no time!

We recommend wearing disposable gloves while performing this task to avoid getting chain grease and dirt on your hands.

If you don't have a bike stand, you can flip the bike over onto its handlebars and saddle Identify where the chain has fallen.

This could be at either the rear cassette, the front chainset, or even both.

If the chain has fallen off at the rear casette, lift the derailler to create slack, and re-loop the chain around the smallest sprocket making sure that the teeth of the sprocket connect well with the links of the chain If the chain has fallen off at the front chainset: Lift the derailleur to create slack Then gradually feed the chain onto the teeth of one of the front chain rings so that it catches Pedal slowly with your hand to test that the chain is in place - Note that the tension of the chain shouldn’t be too slack.

Run through the gears to see if the problem re-occurs. If the problem persists, refer to our video: Bike Chain Care: Adjust the Derailleur to Stop a Chain from Slipping

You now know how to put a slipped chain back on.

Enjoy your ride!.
