In this video you will learn how to hit a high forehand serve.

The high serve is frequently used in singles and it is used to push back the opponent to the rear court.

The three key steps are the preparation, the shot and the recovery.

Step 1 - The preparation.

Use a forehand grip.

Stand with the weight on the back foot.

Hold the shuttle in front of you.

Transfer the weight from the back foot to the front foot.

Step 2 - The shot.

Drop the shuttle and bring the racket forward in an arc.

Do not drop and swing the racket at the same time.

Extend the wrist and rotate the forearm with the palm facing upward in the backswing.

Straighten the wrist as you strike the shuttle and rotate the forearm with the palm facing downward.

Hit through the shuttle and complete the follow through high in front of you.

Make sure the shuttle is below the waist at the time of contact and both feet are grounded, otherwise it will be a fault.

Step 3 - The recovery.

After the serve get into the ready position and be prepared for the return.

Practice your serve until you manage getting a high trajectory so that the shuttle lands vertically in your opponent's rear court.

Enjoy your game! .
