In this video, we are going to learn how to use an anti-insect netting.

The anti-insect netting is a veil that is used in order to protect crops and plants against insect pests, rodents and birds.

The design of the net allow rain and light to penetrate through. It doesn't affect the growth of plants and it represents a sustainable alternative to the use of pesticides.

To use an anti-insect netting we'll need:

Gardening Hoops

An anti-insect netting

Hooks and stones

A tape measure

A pair of scissors

Before you start setting the net, make sure it is the right size for your growing bed. It needs to be slightly bigger than your bed.

Step 1: Drive the hoops into the ground, spacing them 1m apart from one another

Step 2: Spread the net over the hoops.

Step 3: Tie a knot at both ends of the net. Secure the knots with hooks. You can use tent stakes that are very useful and resilient. They will fix the net to the ground and prevent it from flying away.

Step 4: Put stones all around the net in order to block off access to insects.

You can use the anti-insect netting until the time of harvesting. However, when flowers start to blossom, you will have to open the net during the day because some vegetable varieties need to be pollinated.
